On Saturday, 23rd August 2008, at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Orlu, 19 Deacons were ordained priests for the Catholic Diocese of Orlu. The ordination was presided over by the New Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Orlu, Most Rev. Dr. Augustine T. Ukwuoma. This marked his first ordination since he became the Catholic Bishop of Orlu on 21st June 2008.

The Deacons hail from the different parts of the Diocese and beyond and have been fully incardinated into the Catholic Diocese of Orlu. They have completed their Philosophical and Theological studies and have fulfilled, to a reasonable extent, all other necessary requirements for Priestly ordination.

Cyril Chibuzor Duru (from St. Mary's Parish Umuowa - Orlu), Revd. Kingsley Emejuru (from St. Aloysius' Parish Ohakpu), Revd. Williams Toochukwu Onwuneme (from St. Mary's Parish Amaofuo), Revd. Chrysantus Chijioke Onwuzurigbo (from St. Michael's Parish Nkume), Revd. Francis Chibundu Onyealisi (from St. Joseph's Parish Okporo), Revd. Cajetan Chiamaka Dara (from St. Michael's Parish Amazu), Revd. Augustus Chideraa Duruiheakor (from St. Joseph's Parish Amanator), Revd. Raphael Nnaemeka Ejimonye (from St. Mary's Parish Amaifeke), Revd. Toochukwu Ezikudu Anumudu (from St. Mary's Parish Umuowa -Orlu), Revd. Valentine Mmaduabuchi Ihim (from St. Mary's Parish Osina), Rev. Fredrick Ugochukwu Nnebue (from St. Mary's Parish Umutanze), Revd. Bede Chinedu Okike (from St. James' Parish Arondizuogu), Revd. John Ugochukwu Opara (from Ngugo Ikeduru), Revd. Chikwe Uzochukwu Ukachukwu Iriele (from St. Patrick's Parish Ogberuru), Revd. Paschal Toochukwu Alisa (from St. Philip's Parish Arondizuogu), Revd. Gordian Chukwumaeze Ibeto (from St. Paul's Parish Ibiasoegbe), and Revd. Gordian Amara Ihebunachi (from St. Patrick's Parish Eziachi).
